Sea kayak in crystal blue seas, sleep under the stars on isolated beaches on traditional islands, where you can sample real Greek life.
This program is designed for those who enjoy sea kayaking and desire to discover the hidden beauties of Greece. This is a unique opportunity to enjoy the beauties of the Ionian Sea, stopping at delightful authentic Greek Islands and sampling the natural and cultural delights.
Ever since mythical sailor explore, the Ionian Sea has held an irresistible fascination for seafarers. It is easy to see why. Set in crystal clear waters, dozens of islands extend from uninhabited sandy beaches to forested mountains rearing high out of ocean. Every day, we are paddling in the area's protected waters and every evening we explore the islets interior offering excellent hiking opportunities amongst cypress lines whilst enjoying sweeping views and idyllic sunsets.

1 day

Vassiliki-Meganisi

Miles:13,7

After arriving at our starting point(Vassiliki Bay), our guide will give an introductory speech. All participates will get acquainted to the kayaks by participating to a short trip . You will be given all the necessary gear for the excursion. Our guides will take you through the program and give you helpful information's and tips. Any extra luggage you may have, can be safely stored at our base. You will start paddling by heading east firstly at the sandy beaches of southern Lefkas, then a short stop at Sivota bay (a traditional fishing village) for a pic nic. You can continue paddling for 20 minutes till the cave of the bats. You can enter the cave with your kayak and then continue to paddle towards the island of Meganisi (camping grounds). There is a taverna nearby the camping site which can provide you with water, food and toilets facilities.

2nd Day

Meganisi-Skorpios-Meganisi

Miles : 10,6

You paddle to the town of Meganisi Spartochori, where you can leave the Kayaks at the small marina and walk up to the town where there is an old castle that offers spectacular views of the Ionian Islands. Then you leave the island of Meganisi and paddle to the famous island of Scorpios that is still owned by the famous Onassis family. You can circuit paddle this beautiful island where you also view the beach bungalow of Jackie Kennedy. This day paddling is apr ox. 5 hours (11 nautical miles). At the end of the day you return to Meganisi for dinner at a local taverna near the camp site.

3rd Day

Meganisi – Formikoula-Kalamos

Miles :13,8

You start the paddling past the west coast of Meganisi that has many caves and head to the island of Formicoula (volcanic) full of beautiful caves and interesting snorkeling. On Formicoula you can enjoy some snorkeling in the reef and then paddle to the island of Kalamos. On the way to Kalamos you can stop at Porto de Leone for lunch. Total paddling time on this day aprox 8 hours ( 13.5 nautical miles). On this night you will sleep on the isolated beach of Kalamos and sleep under the trees around the fire. For dinner you will walk for 20 min to Kalamos village. Kalamos is a tiny little fishing village where you will enjoy a traditional meal at a taverna.

4th Day

Kalamos –Kastos-Kalamos

Miles: 12,5

From Kalamos you cross to the olive covered island of Kastos with its crystal clear waters. In the evening you can walk to the settlement of the island where we can enjoy dinner in a local tavern. Return to Kalamos for your overnight camping on the beach. 5 hours paddling

5th Day

Kalamos- Atokos - Ithaca

Miles 16

This will be an early morning as you have to cross the channel. Today you will meet with our support boat to accompanied you during the channel passage.

You will start paddling south west to the uninhabited island of Atokos where you can stop for rest, snorkeling and swimming. In the afternoon we set for Ithaka (the famous Ulysses island) in a deserted beach nearby frikes village.

Atokos Island - Frikes
6th Day

Frikes - Kioni- Vathi

Miles 11,5

After breakfast you will start to explore all east side of Ithaka. Your first stop will be in Frikes and your next destination will be the picturesque village of Kioni for coffee or snack. Then you will continue paddling south till you arrive to Vathi , (Ithaca's capital) , located in the end of a fjord like physical port (one of the best in Greece). You will spend the evening there and is recommended to spend the night in a local pension or hotel.

7th Day

Vathi - Frikes - Trekking - Afales

13 miles

Next day after having breakfast you will start kayaking heading north. Your first stop will be at the fishing village of Frikes. This day we also do a small trekking of about 2 Hours as we go from there up to the village of Stavros where we visit Ulysses museum and a beautiful old orthodox church. After the trekking you will carry on with paddling north and in approximately 5 miles we reach Aphales, an area in the north Ithaca with isolated beaches with white sand and turquoise waters. The place here is ideal for snorkeling as it offers incredible underwater rock formations and rich Mediterranean water life. You will spend the night camping under the stars.

8th Day

Afales - Fiscardo - Fokia

Today you going to visit the cosmopolitan Kefalonia island. Your first stop is after4 miles in the famous village of Fiscardo. You can enjoy shopping there and visit the nautical museum of Fiscardo. 1,5 mile southern you can visit the cave of Fokia. This is an old mine which you can explore the tunnels with torch and see bats. In a couple of miles southern you will find an isolated beach to camp.

9th day

Kefallonia - Vassiliki

This will be your last day paddling. In the morning you will meet our support boat to accompanied you during the passage to Lefkas. Is very common to meet dolphins during your trip.
